Dee Ferris, nata nel 1973, vive e lavora a Brighton, Regno Unito. Ha studiato presso Christ’s College, Cambridge e Royal College of Art, Londra. Le opere di Ferris sono state esposte a diverse gallerie internazionali, tra cui: Tate Britain, Londra; Taro Nasu Gallery, Tokyo; Musée d’Art Contemporain de Bordeaux; Andrea Rosen Gallery, New York; Centre d’ Art Contemporain, Charamande; City Gallery Prague, Praga; e la Royal Academy, Londra
L’artista, che ha avuto la sua prima mostra da Corvi-Mora nel 2004, continua la sua ricerca con una pittura tra l’astrazione e la figurazione, liquida, costruita con stratificazioni di colore quasi trasparente. I soggetti di partenza sono sempre topoi dell’esperienza di vita nella società tardo-capitalistica, filtrati attraverso generi tradizionali come la pittura di paesaggio o la natura morta e spinti verso una cifra quasi astratta.
Corvi-Mora è stata fondata da Tommaso Corvi-Mora nel 2000. La galleria è stata inaugurata con una mostra di Larry Clark e Bruce Weber. Dal 2004 Corvi-Mora ha sede a Kennington, Londra. Specializza nell’arte contemporanea e rappresenta circa trenta artisti internazionali, tra cui: Roger Hiorns, Gordon Baldwin, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Brian Calvin, Jennifer Packer e Lynette Yiadom-Boakye.
